Bernie "Boom Boom" Geoffrion spent most of his NHL career as a right winger for the Montreal Canadiens. During his first full season with Montreal (1951-52) Boom Boom Geoffrion led the Habs with 30 goals and earned honors as the winner of the Calder Trophy for being selected as the top rookie. During the 1952-53 season, Boom Boom Geoffrion earned his first Stanley Cup. Boom Boom Geoffrion was also a member of the great Montreal dynasty that won 5 consecutive Cups in the latter half of the fifties. During the 1960-61 season, Boom Boom Geoffrion became only the second NHLer to net 50 goals in a season. Boom Boom Geoffrion's goal total (50) and points total (95), both led the league for that season and he won the Hart Trophy and the Art Ross Trophy. After Boom Boom Geoffrion retired following the 1963-64 season, he went on to coach the Quebec Aces, Montreal's AHL farm squad. Boom Boom Geoffrion would later return to the NHL as a player with the New York Rangers for two seasons and then as their coach. Boom Boom Geoffrion then scouted 3 seasons for the Rangers and held coaching stints in Atlanta, and then for 30 games in Montreal.
